about us

Sarah & Michael met at the age of 15 during an evangelical youth group meeting. In the nearly 30 years since, they’ve journeyed separately and together through, in, and out of the shared faith of their youth. Along the way, they’ve collected degrees and careers, and are currently raising two delightful kids.

We are among a certain subset of Xers and Millennials who grew up sheltered in the walls of the church and now reckon with how the evangelical boom of the 90s and early 2000s shaped who they are today. True Believer is for former youth group kids like us AND for anyone – no matter your background — who has ever lost their faith only to find a much truer form of belief.
